Hi Padraic

My forum is working fine at the moment - if the problem comes back I will let you know.

Thanks very much for your help!

I've experienced the problem. It is an issue but I think it could be related to a recent Windows Security Fix.

There will be a little downtime later today while I stop the databse server and restart the machine.

I think it should be fixed now. If it persists, post the error here.

There will be a few minutes downtime while I restart the main server.

It was a problem I fixed about 4 years ago to do with the amount of ports a server can open up when connecting to other servers/computers. It seems that a recent Windows Update reversed the fix. Thanks Mr. Gates.

I find it faster especially when posting. Its mainly due to the way sending email from the forum has changed. Instead of the posting page sending an email to the first subscriber, waiting for a response and then moving on to the next subscriber, all the emails are sent to a queue. The queue sends the emails to all subscribers individually within the next few seconds but leaves the posting page to return straight away not having to worry about the emails.

Just so you know.
