Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e31'

Timeout expired

/post_info.asp, line 1223
Happens nearly at least once a week and usually shuts us down for a day or 2. Can anything be done about this or do we need to move. I love the program here but these time out errors are happening way to often. I hope there is a quick fix to this. Thanks

going on day 3: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e31'

Is there a # or something you can call to actually talk to somebody about this?

I don't work on Sundays. You posted on 07/02/2007 : 06:38:34 to let us know about the problem and then less than 24 hours later you state that you are going on day 3 ?

Advise your forum members to hit refresh and generally speaking whatever it is you posted will show up. It is a short term fix but it works.

Good for you Padraic, everyone needs a day of ... or a day off even

It started timing out on nearly every post early Sunday morning, today is Tues, so yes Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, that's 3 days. Look I like it here, I have 400 members who visit the board daily and many of them have there own forums here and we all have the same time out problems. Is it because you have too many on 1 server? I would pay for the forum even though I don't mind the advertising if it would eliminate this problem. Like I said I like everything about it except I nor any one can deal with this constant time out issue, so please advise. Here's my forum: housemusic.forumco.com Please help resolve this and I'm sorry for my frustration it's just a regular accurance and now is very annoying. Thanks in advance for your help. Really am sorry about my tone but I use the forum everyday and so do my members. We are a closed network so we all know each other and communicate regularly though it. I really do appreciate your help and understand you probably have numerous issues to deal with on a daily basis so I will thank you in advance for helping fix this problem and I will hang in there.

It never seems to affect this forum for some reason.

Neither server the webserver nor database server are under any stress. As far as I can tell its an internal limit of the O/S the database server is running on.

Padraic, I don't know if this helps in any way but I have found that time-out occurs when you try and post something using either the 'quick' reply' or the 'reply dialogue box' at the bottom of a topic. If, on the other hand you post exactly the same thing but after having used the 'quick reply' on the active topics list to access the thread it tends to go through.

Its just luck really. It doesn't matter where you try to post from.

Keep me updated. The more info I have the better.
