Hello,
No one from our forum has had access for two days to the Montana Owner's Club forum or this one. Eventually I couldn't even get to any site by ForumCo, where as at first I could at least get to You must be logged in to see this link. I tried sending e-mails from there and it didn't work either.
I couldn't access this one either and neither could anyone else I am aware of. Is everything a OK now?

They are just back now. I first became aware of the problem at 4 a.m. today (Nov. 15th) and have been working since to get them back up. I haven't found the cause so far but when I do I will make an announcement.
I'm fairly confident that things should be ok now. The estimated downtime is 24 hours.
All I can say at this stage is that I apologise for the downtime. |

| Is it possible to have a separate email address for support - none of the links on the ForumCo homepage have been accessible during this downtime either. |

I received all the emails, hundreds of them. I decided that working on getting the forums back up was the priority and chose not to answer the emails. I intend to answer the emails I received over the weekend with (hopefully) an explanation of what happened.
If you see any problems with your forums since they came back up, let me know by replying here. |

I wasn't complaining about not receiving a reply, I quite understand that restoring the forums was your priority. However, when I tried to use the email form on the Support Page, it wouldn't even transmit - the page was just "hanging"! I was aware that my forum was down from 10:30 yesterday morning and I tried to send you an email when it was still down yesterday afternoon. You said that you didn't become aware of the issue until 4am this morning, so having another channel through which to have notified you might have made you aware earlier.
I appreciate your letting us know what's happening though. Thanks very much. |

hmmmm.....
You're right of course. I'm going to put a phone number on that page also. I don't really want to put the email address on there as email harvesters will grab it and I get enough spam daily already.
The phone number by the way is +353861061676 |

| Maybe you could just send out a form type e-mail to those of us who have message boards with an e-mail address to get a hold of you in case of an ER. You are in Dublin correct? |

The database server with all of the admins email address was unreachable and the main server (that serves the forums and website) was at 100% cpu utilisation. There was no way possible to send out an email.

Padraic,
I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear. I mean send us all an e-mail with your address now that we are back up and running for future use.
I figured that there was a server problem. We just could have let you know sooner if we had a back up e-mail address. Just a thought.
Thank you for all your help and dedication. It is appreciated. |

That was a good idea to put a notice on the Email Support page about how you were working to get the forums back up as soon as possible. That's how I knew that you were aware of the problem.
I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw that you were back up since we just announced our discussion board and didn't want people to get discouraged when they couldn't access it.
Thanks for getting it back up so soon after you discovered it.

Padraic,
Thank you for all of your hard work. I know how exhausting it is with just a forum. I can only imagine how it is for you. |
