I just tried to reset a password for one of my visitors, and got the following error message:

No Permissions to Modify a Member

Go Back to Re-Authenticate

Back To Forum

I have cleared my cache, deleted my cookies and rebooted, but I still can't modify members. Until I deleted the cookies, I couldn't logout either! I'd appreciate your help or advice as soon as you can please!

Many thanks.

I presume you are using the username Jan on that board. I can verify that Jan is an admin and that I successfully edited a profile using that account without problem.

My guess is that you may appear to be logging in but in fact are not logging in at all due to a problem somewhere.

What browser / operating system are you using?
Does your ISP use a proxy server?
Have you tried it using a different ISP?
Make sure that the time / date and year are set correctly on your computer
and that cookies are enabled.

WXP / IE6. Time / date set correctly and cookies enabled. I'm not certain whether my ISP uses a proxy server or not, but I have been using the same ISP for years and not had a problem before. I haven't tried via another ISP, no. Oh, and yes, my username is Jan.

I just tried another modify and got the same error message. This is weird - everything was OK earlier last week, and I haven't changed any settings!

Ask your isp to add our i.p. - 204.188.113.158 to their nocache list.

In the meantime I suggest you try a different isp than BTOpenWorld ADSL if you can.
You could also ask one of the other admins to do the changes for you.
