The backups are being performed right now so the forums will be a little slow for a while (not more than an hour). All the errors should be gone then. I'll see if I can do that one sooner.

Thanks so much. I am able to post now - and go out for lunch while waiting for my post to appear. :)

Same here. Normally the backups happen at 2am & 5:30 am so they don't cause problems. They will be finished soon.

Still slow, but not nearly as bad. Other than that, things seem just fine.

I thought you really broke it good for a few minutes there. Seems to be working just fine now, maybe a bit sluggish.

You're very welcome.

The backups took up too much space, there wasn't enough room for the transaction log (don't ask) for a few of the databases. My fault completely, just miscalculated how much space was needed.

I'm going to change the backup policy to backup once every two days and keep those backups for 10 days.

Will that help to keep the speed consistent and prevent the slowdowns we seem to get every few days? That would be great.

Whenever there is a backup happening its going to slow down the forum. Nothing that can be done about that. Backups last about an hour at the very most and are done at 2am (small forums) and 5:30am (very large forums) New York time (GMT-5). Any other time, the forums should be fast enough i.e. less than a second. Anytime I ask for info about the slow problems I don't get enough to diagnose the problem correctly. Screenshots of the time (bottom left) or traceroutes to your a forumco forum would be of great help.
