About half of my forum areas are set up for "Allowed Members."
I've been using this option for a LONG time, and I know what I'm doing -- I think.
I won't go into the details of what prospective members need to do to gain access, which is quite a process in itself.
With the previous version of the forum, I knew that I could highlight the user names (on the left) and transfer them (to the right) in order to grant them access.
Spent over 6 hours today doing so.
But it doesn't seem to be working. I "move" them over to the "right side" of the screen, but they still don't have access. (And they've been letting me know.) When I go back to check -- sure enough: none of the people to whom I thought I'd given access has it.
Please help! These users have been patient over the past few weeks -- and I've spent almost all of my one day off working on this, to no avail.
Also, I have two other people working with me to grant access under the "Allowed Member" option. It's worked in the past, and I have no clue as to why it isn't working now.
Thanks for your help -- but, sigh, I hate the fact that I've wasted my only free time for the week. Still -- thanks! I'll appreciate your time and consideration.
Perplexedly yours, Morgana

I just tried this on your forum. I moved 3 users from the left to right and submitted the form. then I went back and edited the forum again, and those users were still there.
Is there a specific forum where you are having trouble? |

Yes:
Multicultural Prophecies and Nostradamus.
After I wrote the message here, I went back and tried to add my list in Multicultural to no avail (for the fifth time).
Here's a partial list to add to the Multicultural Prophecies area (in alpha order):
bishop dave dsa duck dw eagle eco warrior fosh kdokeefe
and many more...
Doesn't seem to be "taking" when I do it. And, as I've said, I've tried quite a few times.
Thanks for your help! |

Dear Richard,
Any idea why it hasn't been working when I try?

I cleaned out a lot of n/a and deleted members from those 2 forums. With the older version of the forum, the allowed members weren't deleted from the forums when you deleted the user. This is rectified in the new version though.
Can you try adding members now and see if it works? |

Thanks, Richard!
A few other sections have had the same problem.
I highlighted and then "moved" the blank spaces and n/a members to the left side (members without access) and then was able to move verified users from the left to the right, thus giving them access.
It worked! Thanks for your help. I only wish I would have thought of trying that before bothering you about it.
