Greetings!

Is it possible to display the TOPIC instead of the AUTHOR in the Last Post field (in the "All Forums"/Home view)?

Or perhaps both the topic and the author?

Many members in my forum have asked me about that. They don't care who writes the stuff - they want to be able to see if there is an interesting topic they can read and discuss.

I can upgrade your forum tonight so thats its the same as this version.

Having the last topics displayed on the main page could leave yourself open. If someone posted a rude or inflamatory subject to their post, it would appear on your main page. It would require recoding of the main page.

With the new version, syndication is available which would allow you to display topic subjects on your website or elsewhere but not on the main forum page where you say. You might be able to include it as the description for a forum or link though.....

Upgrade? Great!

Does all the colors and everything else stay he same?

"It would require recoding of the main page." Does that mean the same as "impossible"?

Colours & everything else should stay the same but there are differences e.g. new features, etc.

It will be a while. I have to upgrade all forums first (it being done manually at the moment but will be automated in the coming weeks). Then billing changes will be implemented. After that if I have time I will look at add what you need.

When you update my forum, will the propblem with the icons in front of the topics be solved as well? (When you edit a topic the icon/symbol become the default one - not the one you have choosen).

Looking forward to the update!

I'll do yours sometime this week.

My guess is that you haven't uploaded the relevant icon, that's why it changes.

But the icon were ok just before I made a change in the topic text and pressed the "post Changes" button. Or I am missing something?

I can't enter my forum right now - are you updating the software?

Edit: Sorry. Now it is working again...

No upgrades at the moment (I haven't forgotton).

If you can, the next time the problem happens with an icon, right click on it and select properties.
Let me know the name of it (whats in the "address" field.

Enter some text, then press preview.

Does it still happen?

Yes, for many of my members. But if you go ahead and publish it comes out ok, despite the "no text preview"...
