Hi, Padriac!
Got another one that isn't getting the options to subscribe to topics. She thinks she is subscribed to the entire board, but doesn't get any e-mail notifications. She tried unsubscribing (I think ... from her notes) and still is not seeing the information that allows you to subscribe to a topic.
Her username is:
QueenCarealot
Thanks! Hope all is well with you. No rush on this.

I completely understand and that's why I said no rush. It's a minor problem and one that can wait. The user will be away for the weekend.
Enjoy your rest. I'm about to take a much-needed break too. Signing off for the weekend! |

Hey, Padriac!
Realized today that we haven't resolved this problem for a subscriber. Also, Christine (PRDIVA QUEEN) is still not able to receive the e-mail notifications.
thanks!! |

Will do!
PR Diva Queen is in Germany. So she's probably sleeping. I'll notify you when she responds. |

| I think its because you have set all your forums to allow only "Topic Subscriptions". The test forum I created at the bottom of your main page has "Forum Subscriptions allowed". I posted one topic in it so they should get notifications. |

Thanks for getting to the bottom of it.
I want to make sure I understand, though. Typically, my subscribers do not want to be subscribed to the entire board. It overwhelms them. They only want to be notified of their topics of interest.
So, how do I set up each forum and topic to make sure that happens without messing up things for the users?
Thanks! And maybe what you did already takes care of that? I'm just not completely sure.
Again, thank you for your assistance and patience.
Allyn

Its simple really. You just allow the highest level wherever you set it and let them choose. When you allow only topic subscriptions in each forum then the user must subscribe to each topic individually.
There is an alternative for people having trouble. At the bottom of your forum there is a link to two rss feeds. These can be used to receive notifications of posts a bit like email notifications.
Download this - You must be logged in to see this link.
After you install the program, run it and right click on "My Feeds" Add this link as an RRS Feed in Feed burner - You must be logged in to see this link.

Thanks, Padriac!
But I need more info about the feed thing. Is that something that I do and then all will benefit or is it something that each would have to do.
And, I'm not quite sure what it would do for 'us'.
No rush on responding to this. Thanks!
