Okay. Padriac you have been very helpful to me when I asked what to do about people having registration problems. You even said they could contact you & you'd help them individually, which is excellent service! We are just new & only have a couple of dozen members, and no big problems, but the past few days I've heard complaints from several people that they can't register because when they press the "agree" button on the TOS, nothing happens. However, I've also had two new members join today, with no problem, so whatever the problem is, it is inconsistent. Probably cookies..... I have posted instructions from these support forums on adjusting their cookies, and told them they could contact you if they still had problems. Is there anything that can be done to eliminate the registration problem at the forum end? - I just want to double-check that I am not blaming those unpredictable cookie critters unfairly!
Thank you for your help !![/b]

If nothing happens after they press the "Agree" button then its one of the following most common causes.
1. Javascript is not enabled (to fix - enable Javascript) 2. Their firewall is causing problems (to fix - disable the firewall while registering)

Um, you mean THEY fix the javascript, right, Padriac? I don't even know what a javascript is, but I manage to get by !!
I mean, today 3 people wrote to me saying they can't register, bUT 3 new members joined today also and had no problem registering - so doesn't the fact that half the people have no problem whatsoever, mean that the peoblem is coming from the other guy's machine and not the forum?
Some people take it as a personal insult if I suggest that it is their cookies or whatever,!!
Thank you for your help with these questions I've asked you, Padriac!! |
