It might be me not being able to see the wood for the trees but can someone tell me how a Moderator moves a Post from one Topic to another Topic or to a different category. I have looked at the FAQ's but I don't see anything in there.

I have managed to move a whole Topic to another topic when in fact all I wanted to do was to move a single post - Help !!!

Cheers,

Brian

A single post like a reply cannot be moved to another topic, nor can you merge other topics into one.

It is easy to move a whole topic from one forum to another irrespective of which category its in. Just edit the first post in the topic and select the new forum it should be in.

That's a shame, being able to move a single Post is what I was wanting to do.

Maybe a possible feature for the future

Maybe. At the moment I'm concentrating on re-introducing the image customisation feature.

Any member could copy the text of the post and create a new topic from an original one quite easily though....

Unfortunately, as a Snitz user since 2003, I've never seen a Snitz board that allows its admin and moderators to move a single post and attach it to another thread. I take it that has something to do with it being an ASP powered boards. That feature is only something I've seen on several Linux powered boards like IPB (Invision) and the like.

I can understand wanting to merge two or more topics or split a topic into two seperate topics.

How would a "Create a new topic from this post button" work?

Would it redirect you to a page like this - You must be logged in to see this link.
only instead of replying to the particular topic it would

1. Create a new topic
2. Include a link to the original topic / thread
3. Have a subject in this format "Discussion moved: Moving Posts from one topic to another"
