We have another topic that has just disappeared. Please check out You must be logged in to see this link.

This one wasn't even close to being very long as the last one was pages and pages. Still this one has disappeared too and can't be found.

Thank you,

Lady RV

It will probably take a while. The log file is 1.2 GB in size.

No problem, especially since I am not sure exactly what detach the database means.

On of the Moderators came up with an idea of a "Trash" for the forum. Is that possible? If is there a way to prevent Moderators from deleting other peoples whole threads and even their own? They have the capicty to move them of course or edit them and that should be sufficent.

I know when I delete as an Admin I have to enter my password and Submit or OK. I assumed it was the same for the Moderators too.

Also can members actually delete their own threads/topics? If so can we prevent that too?

Thank you and I'm sorry we seem to be such a pain.

The server finally finished analysing your log file.

I'll email the results to you later along with my opinion on the most recent topic.

Hello again Padraic,

I haven't received the e-mail from you yet...but and this is a big BUT...it appears the problem for at least this missing thread is a Moderator who deleted this post whom was the topic creator and it deleted the whole thread. Is there a way I can't see of eliminating deletions from Moderators and especially members?

Thank you...very much

I didn't get around to it yesterday. I found the transaction where it was deleted (I think). The thread had a slightly different subject and yes it was deleted by one of your admins or moderators.

I'm not sure that anything is wrong though. Still investigating......

Padraic,

I believe you are correct that a Moderator deleted the thread. I'm sorry that happened and I came here with the question. He is in a completely different part of the world than we are here, hence a totally different time zone.

Is there a way to prevent deletions by anyone other than Administrators? I've checked but I don't see a way.

I'll have to check exactly what permission moderators have within their own forums and when they have been given permission to move topics outside of their forum.

Again as always thank you.

We don't really care if they move them, but would like to eliminate their ability to delete. We have a separate private area on the forum for storage that a questionable thread could be moved to. That way the Admins could make a call on it.

I'm sure the bigger we get the more people we'll need to moderate and more "oops" will happen.

Take care and I'll check back tomorrow.

Lady RV
