How do I adjust my Buy/Sell forum to allow visitors to upload photos of the things they're selling. I saw something on this but cannot find it. Can you walk me thorugh this?

Thank you.

You cannot upload files to our servers.

They need to upload them to some webspace or have them hosted elsewhere.
This place does free image hosting - You must be logged in to see this link.

Once the images have been uploaded or hosted somewhere you refer to it in a post using [ img][ /img] tags (without spaces).

e.g. [ img]You must be logged in to see this link.[ /img]

If you find a good image host let me know. I'm going to put together a list of things admins can use with instructions.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but...

I am trying to explain how to upload photos on my buy/sell forum. Iam unable to write out a sample address as you did for me. Whenever I use the text disappears and an image or ? appeares. This is the address you sent to me:
[ img]You must be logged in to see this link.[ /img]. Why can't I send a similar address . Is there a way to temporarily prevent it from becoming an image?

Am I making any sense at all?

Thank you

If you put a space in the [ img] tag it won't be changed to an image.
If you just put an [imq] tag it will.

Hello Padraic,

RE: Image Hosts: I googled "Free Image Hosting" and found a number of places that host images for free. They all seem OK, including the one you recommended.

I have another strange problem. When I enter this address I can get an image on my topic:[ img]You must be logged in to see this link.[/img] Space left after first bracket.
HOWEVER, when I enter this address the image does not come up. It is in the same folder, it is only 80k. Can you see anything I'm doing wrong.
[ img]You must be logged in to see this link.[/img]

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The second link there is incorrect. If you click on it you get a 404 not found.

The image isn't in that folder, click here - You must be logged in to see this link.

Hi Padraic

I'm sorry, I didn't see that answer. I understand your locking the other topic. I've got to see what's wrong. I had placed the graphic in that folder but I see it doesn't show.

Thanks

Bill

If you upload it to that folder ( You must be logged in to see this link. ) and then browse that folder to check its there then click on the image.

Copy the url from the address bar of your browser and put the img tags around it. If you change format mode to "prompt" when you are posting it will also help.
