Is there a way to make more information mandatory when someone registers at the forum?

Also I am having so many people send me e-mails such as the one below.

quote:
I am having trouble signing in. It says I have logged on but wont let me on the forum. The log on page says I have successfully signed in but wont go any farther than that. Any suggestions? Thanks, Terry

I don't know if this poster is a new member or one that registered a while ago and hasn't logged on since the Forum Upgrade?

I feel bad about posting here so much and bothering you. Also did you catch that I need you to e-mail me regarding my account and payment?

Thank you,
Lady RV

I'm afraid not.

Need more information than that before I can help. Do they get an error message or what exactly happens?

I will be contacting you about it shortly.

They are directed right back to the You must be logged in to see this link..

Then there are those members who can't log in and we've been trying to explain the cookies and the old Forum's cookies prior to the upgrade and how to get rid of them. Some say they still are having problem?

It will be good to hear from you so I can get the account cleared up.

Take care,
Lady RV

It because of an over active firewall (probably Norton).

Ask them to disable it while registering. They can re-enable it afterwards.

I let them know. Boy oh boy are the members having problems since required Log In. I suspect it is because they haven't logged in a very long time.

Here is a new problem/question.

I can't get the "search" option to work anymore. When I try I get a "page not found" error message. Don't see that anyone else is having a problem so assume its my computer. Would you have any suggestions. Thanks.
Hank
