On our forum the number of members located in the bottom left hand corner don't equal the same as the Member List. Below is what has been posted on our forum by me to try and explain it. Can you elablorate on this for me?
Hi Everyone!
I noticed somewhere that someone posted we are 6 members from 2000? That's not accurate.
We have 192 full pages of people at 10 people each and and page # 193 has three members on it. That means by the Member list we have 1923 members.
At the bottom of the forum there is a place that gives some stats. Today's at this time looks like this...
quote:You last visited on Oct 11 2004 6:44:29 PM 952 of 1918 Members have made 21742 posts in 50 forums, with the last post on Oct 11 2004 7:29:45 PM by: Silverbait. There are currently 2595 topics and 1 active topic since you last visited. There are 47163 archived posts in 3638 archived topics Please welcome our newest member: standeb.
I made the Number of members red and larger for this post.
I believe the discrepancy on the numbers from our Member list is that it doesn't count Admins. We have four Admins.

If you take away those four "members" we come up with 1919 members. I haven't figured out what is the deal with the one number off? I will ask at ForumCo.

Thank you very much for running it. Every time I have tried to run it in the past I had gotten an error. I'd have to go way back in this forum to find that error message. I have even tried since the up grade on our site with the same result, but not it a while. I just gave up I guess since it never worked.
So now the member count matches the count I see as a regular member. I see a different Member List as an Administrator. There are locked members and members have been deleted many times but I haven't seen them in the member list. Of course being 192 pages long, I haven't gone through them in a very long time.
As long as the regular members and the MODS see it accurately that's great.
I will try and run the "Update Forum Counts" as see if I get that error message again.
Padraic I will be sending you an e-mail again regarding the World Pay Account.
Thank you both for your replies.

Only when you think something is wrong. It takes a bit out of the database server so don't overuse it. It was run recently when I archived some topics on your forum. It took months to find out exactly why it failed every time before (I won't explain) but I fixed it.
