When I edit a post anywhere and click the submit button, it does change the post but I go back to the main forum topic page. Is something different, wrong?

Thank you very much in advance,
Lady RV

You should go back to the topic. Is that what is happening?

Padraic,

No, it doesn't go back to the topic. Instead it goes directly to the Main Forum page.

Again thank you,
Lady RV

I tested all possible combinations of editing a topic;

1. Editing a topic from the topic page
2. Editing a reply from the topic page
3. Editing a topic from the forum page

In each circumstance, it returned me to the page I clicked the edit icon i.e 1 & 2 returned me to the topic page and 3 returned me to the forum page.

What browser are you using and version?

It's when I am editing someone else's post. Would that make a difference? I have always edited them from the actual topic page. Not from the forum page.

I am using IE 6, at least I think it's 6, brand new computer by Dell.

I saw you had posted...maybe you could try and edit one of the practice posts as someone else. I have you as an Admin, don't I?

You must be logged in to see this link.
(last post)

It brought me back to the topic.

Do you click the link to return to the topic or wait for the redirect? (after you edit a post and click submit)

Waited for it to redirect me back to the topic. I hope that is what you were asking me...edit and hit submit is what I do.

Try it again and do this (it might help me narrow down the problem).

1. Take a note of the url in the address bar of Internet Explorer e.g. You must be logged in to see this link.
2. Edit a post.
3. Click submit and click STOP (beside the back & forward buttons on the Internet Explorer bar at the top)
You will need to be quick!
4. Right click the link to "go to forum".
5. Select properties
6. Copy the address to a post here (something like You must be logged in to see this link.).

Padraic,

First of all I would like to apologize for not getting back here sooner. I was at the Rally and I could not get a cell phone/computer connection to save my life except for the first day or so.

Here is what I did and boy oh boy, hard is an understatement. Even when I hit stop it still took me immediately to the front page. I finally accomplished it though, I think???

I click on the edit icon and the url goes to this...
You must be logged in to see this link.

Then I hit submit and quickly hit stop and it goes to this really fast...

Still having the problem upon edit going to the main forum topic page and it is doing it here for me too. Is it something in my own personal settings? It seems to be happening on both my lap top and new desk top.

OK, well I am really preplexed. When I post anything the same thing is happening. I don't think it is happening to anyone else or they'd post about it. Do you have any idea of what may be causing this? When I post this I will see if it happens here as well to me. I know this is very odd.

OK on our forum it is only happening when I use the "Reply to Topic" link which I am doing here now. I often use the Quick Reply. When I submit this I will see if it is going to direct me to the main forum topic page too.

Are you running a firewall? e.g. Norton Internet Security?
