We're still occasionally receiving the following error message on changing screens:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80004005'

[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

/uspfc/topic.asp, line 674

Is this related to the recent server change or is it something new?

I just got the message two minutes ago - XP/IE6

Any diagnosis?

Many thanks,

Jan

I'm looking into it. Refreshing the page should get rid of it for the time being.

Any news yet Padraic? It's happening even more frequently and is, frankly, annoying. I'm getting reports of the same thing from many other users too.

I know what's causing it but I cannot fix it unless I upgrade all the forums to the new version. I hope to start that soon.

In the meantime, I will be upgrading some of the larger forums which should help substantially.

Are we one of the larger forums?

I've made a change to the server but I don't know if it fixed it.

Let me know if you are still getting the error.

I know. I was notified the moment it happened. It looks like a hardware fault at present.
All forums are up and down at the moment. I'll keep you posted if I can.
