I have some concerns: 1. How can I add an HTML file to the web site? I am trying to add a Paypal button to the website, but not sure were to add it in. 2. The language sensor- I pay for my board and would like to have some control over that, especially since I am responsible for the content. 3. How can I view my standing on page views? 4 Is there a way that each announcement we post will post seperately? 5. Will there ever be stickies? 6. Will we ever be able to see our members online? 7. Why does the support forum have the option to do polls and I do not? 9. It says you can put links on your main forum page but we are having a terrible time doing it (i.e question one, please help).
*I am a little unhappy right now, especially because it is hard to always get answers, and I am not a free member, I am a paid member. So my final question:
8. If I go through another message board company can I forward this account to the new account (meaning, when people type in the forumco address it re-directs them to a new page) for a 30 day period so my members can easily make the transition? Or can I use the forumco account and information with another message board company that has more of the features I am looking for, like phpbb?
Thanks :( TaShane

Sorry for the delay, I'm on holidays at the moment.
1. Enable html in the admin area, you can then post html in posts. 2. If you need words to be added, forward them to info@forumco.com 3. There is no way at the moment. We would contact you if you go over. 4. It should do if you create a new announcement. 5. Maybe 6. Maybe 7. Because it is runnng a different version of the forum software. 8. If you create a link on your forumco board. 9. Just click the world icon on the right to create a link. Its quite easy. |

Thank you for answering. However, in reference to question 1, we want to put the link on the website, not in a post. Paypal offers a button you can put on your website so it goes directly to the screen to donate money and we want to put that button on our site, not in a post, can you PLEASE help us do this!
In reference to question #4, even when I create a new announcement, it stacks with the previously posted announcements and I would like each announcement to be its own thread, is this possible?
In reference to question #7, can I get on the same version you have, even if it costs extra? I would REALLY like to have the option to have polls on my board!
In reference to question #9 we have tried and it has not worked. It seems easy, but it is not working.
Thank you, please reply! |

#1 - You should contact Paypal support as it has nothing to do with ForumCo #4 - Its not possible. The only thing you could do is post a locked topic and bump it every so often. Or create a locked forum for announcements only. #7 - It doesn't have all the features like announcements, etc. and installing it for customers is not something we provide, sorry. #9 - There are some general instructions here - You must be logged in to see this link.

I am also wondering how to add the Paypal donate button to my forum. I went to Paypal and created the button code. PayPal's last instruction says to:
"copy and paste the button code into your own web page code"
but your response was to:
"You should contact Paypal support as it has nothing to do with ForumCo"
So the question is, how do I can access to the web page code?

TaShane First, you need to have a website (web page), not the forum’s page.
Then the forum is placed within the web page. This is done by using the code furnished and found within your “Admin Options” of your forum. The code is found on the lower left side of the Admin’s page, within your forum. By doing this, it will make many (and all) HTML code options available that are outside of the forum’s limits. You will also be able to use options that require editing and using code, such as the Paypal code. Your web page will be split into two separate sections that work independently; the forum, with all its functions; and a “regular” web page with all the options of using HTML code. But to the viewer, it will appear as all-one-page.
NOTE: Be aware that Yahoo’s Geocities “Free” websites will not allow an “IFRAME” within the web pages of the free site, if it has code within the page that directs the viewer away from the page; such as the forum’s URL.
If your ISP (your Internet provider) provides free web space as part of your service, that might be an option you could use for hosting a web page. Or obtain a “paid for” website hosting service.
Having the “paid for” web hosting service will give you, as an Admin of a forum, a lot of other options; options like hosting your own avatars, animations, videos, etc.
Either choice, above, will obviously change the URL address to something different, other than what it is now. You’ll still have the forum at its present address, but the one with the Paypal info within it will be at the new web page’s address.
Also;
I noticed Padraic said this in the (his) above reply: “1. Enable html in the admin area, you can then post html in posts.”
However, when I attempted to “Enable html code” on my forums I get this message: There Was A Problem With Your Details HTML cannot be turned on for security reasons. HTML and ForumCode cannot both be On at the same time
My question; If you cannot use HTML code within the forum, then I don’t know how one can insert and use HTML code, such as Paypal’s code provided, within the forum provided by ForumCo. So one must do the opposite, use ForumCo’s code within a web page that allows the use of HTML code, by placing the forum within your web page.
Maybe you are using a different ForumCo provided forum format than I, and are allowed to use the HTML code option?
