Mike: If you failed to activate your account by not confirming the registration with the confirmation email sent, then you may have to re-register for another (different) forum.
First, check to make sure your server’s email (web mail) did not hold the confirmation email as SPAM or JUNK mail. Should you find the email, follow its instructions.
If you cannot find the email, then try to register again. Should the program not allow you use the same information you used before, because you have tied your email address in with a pre-registering attempt, then use a different email address.
If you do not have a secondary email address, go to Yahoo (or another source) and create one. (See added “NOTE” below)
If you still are unable to register and receive a ForumCo forum, please post back and I’ll try to help you more. Also, post back if you do get registered, that way I’ll know your problem has been resolved.
NOTE: It may be better to have a secondary email account to use for your forum’s needs anyway. That way you will not have given your main (personal) email out via your forum. This provides less opportunity for any members you might later have join your forum to obtain your personal email address. This is only a suggestion and not meant to indicate that any email used on the forums is going to receive any unwanted mail. It is only meant to indicate a way of keeping your personal email address out of the mix. If you should receive unwanted email, after setting up a forum with ForumCo, it would be from one of the members of your forum, and it would have nothing to do with the use of, or because you have, a ForumCo forum.
I’ve used ForumCo’s forums for almost 10 years, and never have I received any junk mail because of doing so. However, I have had unwanted members join one of my forums before, and I did not want them to have my personal email address. Using your personal email on the account is your choice to make. You should know this; I am only just another member, and I have no connection with ForumCo's company or its policy.
