Both have been fixed. Took a while for me to figure it out and in the end it took just one line of code. Its always the simple things.....
If you want GateKeeper I can install it. You would have to change the question & answers any time you suspect a bot has posted spam. The text can be resized by a users browser if they want it.
The CAPTCHA here is a bit more accessibility compliant than most as we offer an audio captcha as well as visual (for visually impaired people). The text cannot be resized though.
Both anti-spam methods only appear to logged out users when they post and to every new user registering.
Do you know if many of your users are visually impaired? Are they mostly retired or middle aged?
I think a lot of them may be slightly visually impaired and yes many are retired. The eyes start to go around 40 yrs old for most people, hate to tell you that being your a youngin and all.
However I think we have far more that are computer challenged. I've not asked them which they'd prefer and I am not sure anyone has ever used the logged out feature.
Thank you so much for all you do. I've said it before and I'll say it again, YOU'RE THE BEST!
Oh my, you must have never seen how our site works...asking them would be awful. I would prefer to do what you think is best. So please use Gatekeeper if that is the one you think you'd use.
I've fitted the captcha to the registration page. Let me know how it goes. I can increase the letter size and reduce the amount of letters if necessary.
It seems to be working really well. No attempts so far for registration from addresses and domains that just wouldn't be joining our club normally. Thank you so very much.
You could put moc at montanaowners.com under it if you'd like. That is the address for forum e-mails. No one has complained or mentioned a problem so I am going to assume there is not a problem.
On second thought, no, there are plenty of ways to get in touch with us.
Is there any way to REMOVE the anti-spam filter for PM's? My forum is going to be closed to new registrations soon, and the existing members will want to talk to each other. Many of them haven't made the required 10 posts to lift the anti-spam feature.
