Hello Padraic,
I have been working for a few weeks/months on developing a forum/blog type of site. I browsed this site, but didn't notice. Are you backing up the Free Forums? I've got a lot of work in there and not sure how I could back them up myself. Is there an easy way to download and backup all my work? Or are you confident you have a fault tolerant backup system?
Note: My goal is to keep this website free, but if advertisers like it buy a site from you and put advertising on. For now the free looks good. Hope you keep improving it.
Thank you in advance for any help,
B112

I can answer half of my question... I found discussions where you announced how you backup. Now is there a way for me to make backups on my own? Is there a Snitz tool which can read the data from the site and store it in a database locally? i.e. Analyze the XML or HTML and extract the necessary info to backup the database from the server. |

Has above can I back up my forum myself? Is my free forum backed up or not? Can anyone help with this? If not, if I upgrade to a paid forum will it be backed up then?

I don't know about free forums, but I do know our forum, which is paid for is back up. ForumCo does a great job of keeping us backed up and supported. |

I’m sure ForumCo. keeps backup of everyone’s forums, should their site go down. Apparently, simply going up to “File” and choosing to “Save As” the web pages on the forum you fear total loss of is not what you wish to do. If I had a lot of post, and work done within my forum that I was afraid I’d never be able to recover should the worst thing happen, I’d save it to a folder in my computer, and burn a hard-copy (CD) of it for later reference back to if I needed it.
