Hi
When I try to email another forum member, I get a note saying I need to have posted 10 times before I can do so. How do I change this setting or turn it off altogether?
This is URGENT as people are starting to visit AS WE SPEAK!!!
Many thanks

I just looked and couldn't find a setting for that either. As a work around, perhaps they can use PM's as that's not limited.

Thanks for your reply. I've actually disabled PMs as I wanted my forum to serve as a message board only. The thing is, when people advertise, it is essential to be able to respond by email without ever having posted anything before as perhaps you only came to the forum looking for one particular thing...
Anyway, let me know if you figure it out!
Thanks again

Ali - (unofficial answer - I can be wrong!) All I can suggest for now is this; If the advertiser(your member) has PM's on, the message board will forward an email telling them they have a PM. With the limited PM's if they have a lot of interested people they'll overload that quickly. So you may have a problem with your design... You might need a feature fix to support you. -B112

Padraic,
Can the setting be changed to, say, three emails? 10 seems a bit excessive.... |

yes, i suppose so - it's just that people can be wary about posting their details publicly because of spammers.
was hoping emails could be an alternative to PMs as i joined a forum recently and keep receiving unwanted private messages from people i don't want to talk to!
thanks for your help |

If we take away the anti-spam feature then the same thing will happen with email.
Users don't have to post private information. They can use pm's to make arrangements for further communication. |
