Its been fast all day for me in spite of a lot of Google spidering. I've just restarted the server so it'll be slow for a few minutes.

For the past three days the forum has been running very slowly..It took 9.5 seconds just for this page to load..After i loged into my forum it took 3:00 for the page to load..What is the problem and are you working on fixing it..This problem is not just with my board but other board owners are having the same problem with everything running so slow..Would be nice to know what is wrong and you are working on it..At least we would be able to let our board members know that this is only a temporary thing
PS:You have a great forum here and i would hate to see this slowness become a permanent thing...Thank you for your help on this problem ...

Please don't start multiple threads about the same thing. This page loads for me in 0.34 seconds.
The forums went down for a few minutes after I restarted the server. Extra backups are run at the weekend and Google is doing a lot of spidering lately so they may have been the cause.

Padriac -

The forums were running at normal speed for about 10 minutes an hour ago - they've been slow ever since then - both of my forums are taking forever to load, to switch to diffent topics, etc. Something is still definitely wrong - I'm getting complaints from my forum users about how slow they are running - and I'm sure the others are getting the same type of complaints.

Padraic - It may be coming up for you right away, but that doesn't negate what's happening to the rest of us. I'm very disappointed in the lack of support we've been getting on these forums this weekend. We are your customers and we are expressing concerns with problems we are experiencing, and you are showing no concern whatsoever. It's a good thing I don't treat my customers like you have with us over the weekend.

I've had problems all weekend too. What could be the problem? It took my forum homepage 23 sec to load earlier. Please help us figure out this problem? My members are complaining too.

I'm a lot farer away from the servers than you are at the moment and this page loaded in 0.55 seconds for me. There are no problems with the servers, none of them are under any stress at the moment. Google has been spidering the forums all weekend so there could have been times of extremely high traffic and slightly slower page loading times. If Google continues spidering at the rate it is I will ban their robot.

If that is the problem it's a big pain in the neck!! What does Google do for the forum anyway?

Without Google there would be no free forums. If its still happening by this evening I'll ban the Google robot.

Well it seems to be worse this morning. I've spent the last 20 minutes trying to access one of my forums and have only been able to view two topics. It's getting to be quite aggravating -

You have the timer deactivated on your forum but it loads for me almost immediately, in about a second.
Google stopped shortly after my last post (as far as I can tell).

Maybe the problem isn't related to the forum. Do you know how to do a traceroute to forumco.com ?
