Hi
Just picked this up from your reply to JTS - "Members are automatically logged out after about 30 days (I think) when the cookie expires."

Can you just confirm that is indeed what it sounds like - that if a member doesn't post for a month they'll lose their membership?? Some of mine are ill and thus wouldn't necessarily have the ability to constantly be on the board and I'd need to know so that I can warn them before it happens sort of thing - otherwise they (and I most likely) will panic somewhat.

Boards been running wonderfully since my early problems thanks.

Regards
Romayne

Ramayne,

What it means is that if a member doesn't post in 30 days, the cookie that contains the information "expires", so that the next time they visit they have to login again (not register again).

Hotmail for example only normally give you a few minutes/hours (not days) before your automatically logged out.

So remember, they will be logged out as if they logged themselves out via the Logout link. But they will still be able to log back in whenever they return.

It's not dependant if a member posts or not. After 30 days, the cookie expires and they will need to login again. With the standard snitz forum software (the version that is running on Forumco's support forum), this expiration date can be modified by the admin in the config.asp file. But I don't think forumco users have access to the forum files, right?
