I have several members who have joined the site but have not been sent e-mail or passwords. They can't post at the forum. Is there not a way for me to see their passwords or send them a new one?

I moderate on another entirely different forum and the administrator can access all of that information and even get their e-mail addresses, regardless of whether the have chosen and option not to make it published?

Is there a way we can change a user's name if they ask us to?

If I go to send e-mail notification, member's e-mail list or update forum counts it shows we have 28 members. If I go to members on the top of the screen it shows only 20. It seems those members who haven't been able to get in and don't have passwords are the ones that don't show up on the member list everyone can see.

Thanks again, MOC

As the administrator you can change the password of a user, just modify their account and change the password, you can then send them an e-mail with this new password. Most likely they e-mail address that they have entered is invalid. You can see the person's e-mail address (and modify it if need be) on the Modify User Screen as well. And, you can change the user's username on that screen to.

Richard,

Thanks for the quick response.

These members don't show up on the member list from on top but do on the e-mail notification under admin options. Yet when I try and send them an e-mail it says "Your request was not sent due to the following error. 501 unacceptable mail address. I also get that same message on any I try and send even to valid addresses such as my own.

Also I haven't gotten the e-mailed password on the user name I just set up an hour ago. Oddly enough though this new user name showed up on the member list so I was able to edit it and set a password myself. Some of these members have been waiting days.

Thanks again for all your hard work and help.

MOC

I think I have everything straightened out except that when I try and change an e-mail address for anyone including myself I get that same message I got before.

"Your request was not sent due to the following error. 501 unacceptable mail address."

Any of them and all of them. I don't know why but that function is not working at the forum. Plus three members that I know of can't log on because they still don't have their passwords. I tried to circumvent it by editing their profiles and sending them e-mail from MontanaOwners@aol.com but when they tried to get in it still doesn't work. Their e-mail addresses are accurate because I can communicate with them via my e-mail with no problem.

Thanks for your help Padraic and again to Richards earlier.

Its a strange one. Any of your members that needs a password will have to email me directly from the account they signed up with.
