Any chance of us ever being able to embed Vimeo or ExposureRoom videos? They both allow embedding. Vimeo's are scalable, though EX's aren't.

I've been planning to re-open my forum (for ages!) but if I'm stuck with YouTube it's a bit pointless...

I can knock up some more icons.

Sure. Can you post the html for one of each and I'll have a look at it?

Wow. ok here goes...

You must be logged in to see this link. click on 'HD' to switch off HD and to access the standard definition video, and maybe wait till it finishes downloading for optimum result

You must be logged in to see this link. That level of quality from a free service is currently unmatched.

Let me know if you want the icons.

p.s. I hope you don't mind that I posted in the Snitz forum about this.
Balexandre says he'll include it in the next OnlineVideos mod.
I didn't expect a positive response so quickly from both of you...

At first look the html code is considerably more complex than youtube, etc. but I'll have a go at it anyway.

My understanding is that the code will still work if you ignore everything except what's between the 'object' tags.

Dunno if that helps...

I'm not really expecting anything before Xmas, but it'll be real good when it arrives.

BTW have you noticed that Youtube's windows have been expanded to 640 wide?
You should (eventually) adjust the the settings here.

It appears to be 640x360

I see one my favorite animations is there - JoJo in the Stars. Worth watching all the way through. Magnificent

You must be logged in to see this link.

Here it does still open in a small window, but letter-boxed

Maybe you need to include space for the control bar too, which seems to be 25 units high, making that 640x385.

Ah! And then you get that "Hosted by YouTube" thing at the bottom making it a total of 640x400.

    There's a development I was unaware of a month ago - YouTube HQ. No, I don't mean HD.
    HQ is 640x360 MP4 and is way better than normal YTube. Unfortunately YTube embeds
    default to their standard (rubbish) SD resolution, but the addition of a bit
    of code make the embed switch to HQ. That must be possible with Snitz too...?

    Some nice Ytube HQ here, as well as more info on the embed:
    You must be logged in to see this link.

    This what it would look like in your forums. Nice, eh?
    All it amounts to is adding '&ap=%2526fmt%3D22' to the coding.

    And you can switch off the YTube search bar by changing search=1 to search=0

    And please please please include Vimeo. They are a film-makers community with
    some awesome content: You must be logged in to see this link. This one's clocked up 45k views!

    p.s. You might want to check this out: You must be logged in to see this link.

    OMG! Vimeo works by simply using the Flash embed button here:

    but still the user has to trim

    <object width="400" height="295">
    <param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" />
    <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" />
    <param name="movie" value="You must be logged in to see this link.
    &server=vimeo.com&show_title=1
    &show_byline=1&show_portrait=1
    &color=0c63ab&fullscreen=1" />
    <embed src="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?
    clip_id=1297050&server=vimeo.com&show_title=1&
    show_byline=1&show_portrait=1&color=0c63ab&
    fullscreen=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="400" height="295"></embed></object>

    down to
    You must be logged in to see this link.

    An embed coding button here would be better...

    And the frame made wider to 640x410

    And would still be very grateful for YouTube HQ option.
