Just to let you know that due to the recent administration / work I've been doing on the database server it is now possible for me to backup the forums on a daily basis.
The backup occurs at 2am Texas time (Central Time Zone GMT-6) and takes about 23-24 minutes at the moment. An automatic post appears in the Announcements forum when backup starts and again when it completes.
Optimisations and integrity checks on the database occurs over the weekend at offpeak times.
Forums may not respond as fast as they usually do while the above is happening but the difference should only be marginal and shouldn't last for long. Backups, needless to say are very, very important.
