Hey,

Just yesterday I signed up for one of your free boards. Great boards btw. I have forums by Invisionfree and phpBB and a list of others. But this is a first using what I think is a "bulletin" board right? To the point, when on my sight I have created a few different categories but when I try to either change the default one's I usually get "you must be a administrator" of which I am on there. I'm thinking while signed in as the admin without going to the admin control sight can't I just change that default title then? I mean all the icon's are there for me to use which usually indicates that the admin is on (is my thinking perhaps I am wrong).

Also is it allowed to put a custom banner on there something a little bigger than the default one? Btw nice job with this set up, always wanted a bulletin message board they have great features.

Invision & phpBB are bulletin boards also.

To edit a category you should go to the main page of the forum. Login as admin.
Then click the pencil icon to the right of the category or forum you want to change. It should give you options to change then. Is that what you are doing ?

Not unless you are on the paid version. The free ones are supported by advertising.

Unless of course you mean the ForumCo logo on the top left? You can change that in the admin area.
Click Admin Options on the top right. Goto Main Forum Configuration Options and change the title image field to an image which you have uploaded to your own webspace.

I know that Invision and phpBB are bulletin-boards, what I meant is this particular board in which you use is a "Bulletin software board" isn't it? Thxs I will try your suggestions, oh btw when signing up for the board I didn't realize the name I chose "happy jack" would be my username on there is there someway to change it myself or do you have to? If you have to and you could would you please change it from happy jack to Appamatix as it's spelled here.

Invision, phpBB and Snitz (the software we use) are basically the same. They just use different technologies and languages to achieve a similar result.

If you want to post on your board as Appamatix then all you have to do is register on your board using that name. You can make that Appamatix an admin or moderator if you like.

So the Snitz is the name of the software then, it reminds me so much of a the "Bulletin type boards", Bulletin is a software company that specializes in message boards like the Jellsoft one's. Very proficient as message boards go, one of my favorite ones. Invision is also very good along with the phpBB one's but for some reason I have always been intrigued with these type boards. So if I understood you correctly I will have to register on my board as "Appamatix" and then make him an administator right? I'm asking because I thought you could only have one administrator on a board, mods yes but not another admin.

You understand correctly. You can have as many admins as you want. Its better that you only have one though. The more you have the greater the chance that someone will guess a password and try to hack your board.

You could edit Appamatix's profile (from the members page) if you are logged in as an admin and give Appamatix a special title. The title will appear on every post instead of the rank.

If you want. You would have to upload it somewhere and I can then add it if you let me know the url.

I use ImageShack here is the avatar

in 3 different forms:
I don't know

which one you would need so here

is 3 of them:

With url or you can cut the url off and just use the img (without the brackets so you would see what I was getting to).
[********:**You must be logged in to see this link.]

Html: Without the url
<img src="http://img215.echo.cx/img215/879/coffee2xu.jpg" border="0" width="96" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/>

Hope this will work for you ImageShack is free so I always use them for inserting my avatars and other graphics on my other forums.

Hey Padriac,
In your signature I noticed your link is modified instead of showing the You must be logged in to see this link. tried using Site and it just show's the entire text is there something here on this board that you must use differently. Like the colors are not but instead just and. Just wanting to shorten my links a bit.

Sorry to put you through all the trouble with my avatar but after looking at it, it wasn't very clear. So the bug will have to suffice.
