Is there any way I can add a photo album section to my forum?

Welcome to ForumCo.

I'm sorry but a gallery is not built in.

You could either post the pictures in a post or link to your website where you would
have installed a gallery. There are many free gallery scripts.

You must be logged in to see this link.

What about pasting an image into a post? How can you do that?

The image must be hosted elsewhere, like on your website.

You may then link to the image using [img ] [/img ] (without spaces) tags.

If you change Format Mode to "prompt" when you post and then click the "Insert Image" icon, it will guide you through the process.

My forum members are having trouble with their avatars and with posting photos as images. I myself have tried too and when I do the img tags around the url it still comes up with the red x. Many people's avatars are coming up red x's too. Is there something I need to change in administration options to fix this?

The avatar I saw which was broken was because the host doesn't allow hotlinking i.e. referring to an image from another webpage. The only solution is to move it to another host or use a different picture.

The only broken image in a post I could find was this one You must be logged in to see this link. 53579 img MIA.jpg

Its broken because the link is incorrect.

By far the easiest way to post a picture is by changing Format Mode to "prompt" when you post. It might be an idea to make an announcement with instructions for posting pictures.

Its possible to edit a persons avatar by clicking on the pencil icon on the members page. If you can get a working link to a picture, copy it to the photo field when editing them. I can do it if you post the link here with their username.

OK, I got that picture to work but had to use html, when I posted the correct url, it automatically took out the symbols & and = out of the link making it broken. Why did it do this? I tried several times with the correct link and it kept breaking it.
Also what does changing format mode to prompt do?

Its because the link isn't to a image, its to a page which dynamically generates the image. The best way is to directly link to the image.

Changing the format mode assists with posting images and other stuff. It asks for the image url and automatically adds it. It might be useful for those users having problems.

When the picture came up I right-clicked it and went to properties, and directly copied that url to the forum, and it did the same thing. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing.

Try it on this thread and if it doesn't happen, I will upgrade your forum to the newest version.

The only option is to download the picture and save it. Upload it to somewhere else, like the webspace your ISP gives you and link to it from there.

I have done that, I've tried several different webspaces and it does the same thing.
