I would like to know if it is possible to set up my forum to restrict users from automatically being approved to join it. I would like to limit who can and can't use the forum, by manually approving all memberships.

There are a number of ways you can do this but I think the best would be to;

1. Setup a forum for new members to introduce themselves.
2. Setup your other forums as Allowed Members Only or Password Protected.
3. Grant the new members access to the other forums as you wish.

Where do I active the "Members Only (hidden)" faeture?

What is the difference between "Members Only" and "Allowed Member List" ?
