warning: if you click the link above you might download the Trojan VBS/Psyme

Sorry for the link, I posted it as an example for Admin...I know they have no control over the pop up site used, but maybe by bringing this site to their attention something can be done.

BTW...thank goodness for antivirus programs, firewalls, ad-blockers, hmmm...what else am I missing. lol!

Am I the only one having this problem? Do you all have pop up blockers? My first problem with these pop ups was with re-directing my browsers, now this? My members from my forum wants answers but I can't give them any.

Standard Internet are very quick to ban bad ads. For the fastest response, email them here with details of each ad you get a trojan on - You must be logged in to see this link.

Personally, I couldn't recreate your problem as the ads are rotated and either it didn't come up for me or my antivirus didn't catch it.

Thanks Padraic for the response.

When I click the link in my first post the trojan is still trying to load, but McAfee stops it. I reported the site to SI as advised. I'll post a follow up asap.

Regards,

bune

I think they have already banned them. I also think that some antivirus / firewalls
over-react in some cases e.g. disallowing some javascript.

I do have ad-aware and zone alarm installed, and I update and run them weekly. Both of these programs are free and highly recommended.

In my earlier post I was running McAfee, I am now using Norton, now when I get the pop up that used to load the trojan Norton doesn't detect anything. Where as McAfee would always stop it. Maybe it's an over-reaction to the java script? I don't know....but what seems suspicious is that when I get the pop up from achtungachtung.com all I get is a blank screen.

What is interesting is that this thread is getting lots of reads but not that much posts. I wonder if any of these lurkers are having the same problem?

I have edited the above link in case anyone wasn't sufficiently protected.

My firewall caught it (as shown in the source html of the webpage) and blocked the popup, maybe Norton is
doing the same?
