so, I find or take a photo, is there a way to post it? I know I can post a photo that is on the internet and has a url, although finding one that is the correct size is sometimes difficult, but can I post a photo from my computer or that someone forwards to me?
Wes, as Padraic has pointed out, you need a photo hosting account that you can save your photos to. You can resize them to a correct size for use on your forum post before you send them to the photo hosting site. Then when you use the direct url link to the photo (in-between the image brackets on your post) the image will appear. If you try to send the photos from your computer’s collection you’d have to keep your computer on all the time, if not the photo would be missing in the forum post. The forum has to be able to find the image. The image, not the web page it’s on. It really doesn’t have to be a “Photo” host. Any hosting web space that will host files of any kind that you have access to will work. FaceBook, You Tube; to mention a couple. Just remember to size the photo to a size workable with your forum page before you send it (or post it) at what ever site your using. And yes, you can post videos and animated graphics within your post on your ForumCo forum.
Chuck, I have been doing it that way for years. When I mention size, it most often has to do with photos displayed in a news article. I often post a published article that is of interest to our community (with full credits of course) and sometimes the photo reproduces very large (>1200 on the horizontal) so I run the google program to find it in a smaller size.
https should be supported on all forums now. If you try to access you forum via a non-secure (http) url it should redirect you to the secure (https) url.
If there are issues or anything strange, let me know.
