Well the changes took a lot less than 24 hours to go into effect. And they seem to work for our Comcast and Cox email system users. A MOC member reported earlier tonight that their "Subscription" messages resumed once again. I did send test emails to the members at Comcast and Cox without getting an immediate rejection.
However, the changes did not correct the problem with AT&T (and its brethren - sbcglobal.net, bellsouth.net, swbell.net, and nvbell.net). Those systems continue to reject emails from the ForumCo SMTP server with the reason "Failed Recipient: c214dick@att.net Reason: Remote host said: 521 DNSRBL: Blocked for abuse. See You must be logged in to see this link."
We really would like to have the "Abuse" blockage removed by those providers as we have a significant number of members who subscribe to their email offering. As it stands now, we can not communicate with them via email.
Here are the rejections messages from AT&T ============================================================

I just tried sending email to all five AT&T flavored providers and they all rejected our emails as SPAM (just as before). Here is what I receive in the bounce-back message:

It has been a week since the last posting. Email is still not working to AT&T. Is there any update on the progress to correct this problem? |

Yet another week has passed. Email to AT&T still doesn't work. Has there been any progress in resolving this problem? We would really appreciate a response. |

And yet another week has passed without an update. Of course this problem has been around since last year so what is a week in the overall scheme of things? Never the less, an acknowledgment that some attempt to identify and/or resolve it would be greatly appreciated. |

Sure enough! Here is the headers (and message) from one sent (and rejected) a few minutes ago.

I sent an email from the MOC to the member who has been my test AT&T email case. Normally (when it is rejected) I receive a rejection email almost immediately. This time there was no rejection message.
I have asked the member to respond if they actually receive my email. I haven't heard from them but they may be away today or it was too late in their time zone. I will wait another 12 hours to see what develops. But the good news is the behavior has changed and may indicate it is working. We can only hope. |

I have not heard from my test case member. It has been 24 hours now and I even PM'd him but nothing. He must be out of touch email-wise.
But I did send a test email to my personal email account (Gmail based) which has been working. It has been several hours now and it still hasn't been delivered. I suspect the recent change has stopped the delivery of all email again.
Perhaps looking at the syslog of the SMTP Server may expose some interesting messages?
I will try some other members with various AT&T subsidiary accounts. |

We have confirmed that our test emails were not delivered to the AT&T servers. They are not being rejected as before, they just disappear into the ether. Additionally, email to ISPs that hadn't previously been a problem are not being delivered either.
In short
Email from the ForumCo SMTP Server is broken! |

As CRAFT-Guy said our e-mail is completely dysfunctional. It is impacting our registrations and is also inhibiting our communication with some of our members, and members to members as well. |
