View the economics of our time, our club president has asked me to get a complete backup of all our threads in a file format that would be importable into another forum database or an excel spreadsheet.
We do not want to change or lose all the info in our posts that we have accumulated however, view that places have been closing up left and right, we want to ensure that we can safeguard our threads & topics off-line periodically and that they would be recoverable.
Can you give us a how-to tutorial on this subject? By the way the Faq for the knowledge base is not a working link
Off hand, I’d say you are going to need to do a lot of copy and pasting of post made on your forum. Copy the text from the post, then paste it into a document like Microsoft Word. Then save, or burn to a CD, the documents for later reference or copying back to another forum. I have before went up to “File” and saved the entire webpages of a forum, and then copied that to a CD for safe keeping. But I know of no way to save it all in one step, without going to each page and saving what you want. Maybe a ForumCo Admin can give you another option?
