Sorry,
as a moderator of this forum, I can’t help you much in the accessing of the database files of your current forum. That would be something that the Admin of ForumCo would have to give you access to.
However, I would like to point out where you may find more info on your “something you’d like to try” project. At this URL you will find some discussion on the process of changing the database info from one forum to another.
You may find that it may be easier to simply have your members re-register, after you set your new forum up with a SQL server; leaving your current forum intact until the new forum is a success.
The discussions (subjects) in these topics can give you some help in your project.
