I have few queries, will try to make it as simple as i can.
I understand that this question has been asked several times.
I just want to confirm few things from what I have gathered through reading the forum. Kindly correct me if any of these is wrong.

1. New smileys can not be added on the forums default list.
2. Only way to use smileys is to make a topic and post their URLs and use them as image.
3. The default set codes for smileys can not be changed. Like the code can not be changed into something easier to remember and use.

If any of these can be done then kindly let me know how to set that up.

Also one thing I wanna know, for a quick reply msg under each topic, Smileys dont show up by default. Is there a way to do that. As many members of my forum can not remember the codes to use smileys and still want to use the quick reply option as well as want to use smileys!! but because they cant remember the codes of smileys, they havent been able to use it.

Regards

Oh another important question. Is there a way to see only the posts made by a specific member ? like some option like, click on here to see posts made by this member, which cud be last ten posts, last fifty posts or posts made today or in couple of days. There is an option of that in profile for last ten posts but it only shows topics rather than the posts!

Suggestion;
Host all images (including smilies) on a webpage. They have to be hosted at another web location other than the forum, somewhere on the web anyway.
Next create a topic for your members. In that topic post the smilies that are available with the URL listings to them. (Or a link to your webpage showing them.)
Next have your forum members that wish to use them copy from your posting the URLs, then they can paste the URL info into a Word document, NotePad, are other text type page of their choice. If they leave it on their Desktop, they can quickly locate and copy which one they want to place in their post, at the location they want; by using the "Insert Image" brackets of the posting page of the forum.
This way, there is no limit to the different smilies available.
Many of the "Free" smilies on the web, already are being hosted by the webpage showing and providing them. However, how long that URL is available is upto another person. It would be best if you hosted them for yourself and your members. That way, if there is a blank image box show up later in that post, it would not be because someone else moved or deleted the image, and the URL to it is no longer correct.
I also used to host avatars for my forum members the same way.

yes, No new smilies can be added to the default, list, you can however change the to what ever you wish.
Basically you got it all right.
No, unfortunately you can't add them to the quick reply message, however, if you wish to do text effects and such, you can click on the:

* HTML is OFF
* Forum Code is ON

Include Signature

*forum Code* link, which will open a new window with code.

and i beleive for your final question, you would go to the members profile, and click "Find all non-archived posts by 'member'"
