This is going to sound stupid, but how does one use the insert windows Media audio file option? I had a audio file I had at another site, put the url between the wma /wma tags (it had the brackets but to show it here I just removed them), and when I posted the message it came up illegal use of tag. Obviously I am doing something wrong but I can find no documentation on those buttons for media file tags they are not explained in the forum code help.

This is the URL of my test file

You must be logged in to see this link. Each Other.WMA

If you copy and paste that into your browser it opens a Carpenters song. but darned if I can get it to work anyway in the message.

Hmmm just noticed it doesn't like the white spaces in the URL here... but trust me that link does work if you cut and paste it.

I did make another attempt with no white spaces...and it seems to work except...the Media Player Bar in the message is totally black and unless you know to click with your right button to select play you can't play it a second time (first time you load the message it plays... here is one that works...

The url to the file is not correct. It needs to be html encoded like this
You must be logged in to see this link.

Try the following code

[wma]You must be logged in to see this link.[/wma]

I cannot check to see if its working at the moment (I'm behind a firewall which blocks WMA) so I'll check it later.

You could convert the file to mp3 and use a flash player to play it. There are lots of free flash mp3 players with tons of features.

It was the white spaces in the message, they needed to be converted to the %20 thanks... Still get a totally black player window, but that is a FireFox bug I am sure... I can check by loading Explorer and trying it. I don't think we will use that feature much on our forum, but I like to have answers for when the members start posting questions for me LOL. Thanks for you really fast response, I appreciate it. Sometimes the answer is obvious, like it being a problem with the white spaces in the file name...just need a person to bounce the idea off of. Thanks again.
