The Search link on the forum is useless unless there is something I don't know. If you conduct a search it will bring up every single page in the forum with a topic. So you have to scan each page within the result topic to find the highlighted text results. In other the search is only topic displayed instead of page(s) displayed. If you do a search, no matter how particular the results the search will show every page in the topic even though the search text may only appear in one page of that topic. You have to go through every page to find out which page in that topic the search string is on. So if you have 40 pages or more in a continuous discussion in a certain topic your out of luck using a search. So why is the search option only useful for finding the topic instead of the actual page(s) that the search string is on. This is very frustrating.
I just tried to do a search limited to one particulary forum on my board and the results are always a display of every single page in the forum. So the search feature will not tell you what page the search results are on. This is a bug that I hope gets fixed because a search feature is important. Admin, please let me know what you think can be done about this. Thank You. On a positive note, Other than that I like all I see here.
I would envision it working this way: If 10 or 30 of those 40 pages were matched then the search should show you the matched pages. Not every single page within the topic. The way the search results work now the results are every single page in the topic even if your results are only found on 1 page within the topic. So if your dealing with a topic with 40 pages or more then you have to look through all 40 pages to find the results so what good is the search? It's not a page specific search but merely a topic specific search. Is there any way to make the search results show the actual pages that the query can be found on?
