A member has posted some objections to the cookie issue and I noticed that here on my new lap top I do not have those options checked on my Internet Options and everything is working very well. The original post is rather old and may have been specific for an earlier version of the ForumCo Software on MOC.
Any clarification you can give me would be of great help.
By the way "Have a very safe and Merry Christmas!"
In your first post you give instructions to allow forumco.com set third party cookies on users computers. This was because you use (or used to use) your own domain to mask the forumco.com url.
It does not allow all third party cookies which the person objecting is trying to assert. It only allows third party cookies be set by forumco.com.
We have made changes to prevent the need for users to do this but it may resolve some users problems.
Thanks Padraic and I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and a joyous holiday season in general.
I think I will take off the sticky on that one then.
Here is a newer situation...can you clarify it for us?
quote:I tried posting this but the wifi is screwing up and I can't get that done. So I'll do this as an email and it goes out when it goes out.... ------ Tonight is the second time in the past few months we've had a new member in the membership directory twice. The memberships were identical with the same userid, email address, and all the other fields. I could not, of course, compare passwords. The member is donald l scott.
I deleted one and emailed the member what happened and to contact me if problems logging on.
How does one contact Padraic about this kind of problem? What is the protocol?
I'll have to check the database to see exactly what happened. My guess is that they made it look like the name was the same but in fact there was some minor difference.
