I recently set up a forum at Forumco. I was disturbed to find out I had access to all the members' private messages and thought it had to be a mistake. A friend from another board said it had always been that way. How can they be called "private" if anyone has access to them and why is it set up that way?
The forum administrator has a responsibility to ensure that their members are not carrying out breaches of the terms of service - You must be logged in to see this link.
The administrator has access to almost all data of its members e.g. i.p. addresses, email addresses, etc.
Speaking of private messages, could have it set up so that when you return a pm it could me marked that you've responded in some way? My email on yahoo has a little arrow then you reply to an email. Thanks Padraic. I really love my forum here at Forumco.
