 Outbox Messages Deleted		  New Topic  Reply to Topic

I had a user claim that several messages in their outbox to one single other user were deleted. ONly that user, and they were all recent (not past the date for auto deletion).

I checked with the other user and they did recently delete messages from their inbox, but I don't believe it should affect the first users outbox.

They cliam they did not check any boxes or intentionally delete any of these messages knowingly.

Is there some other way this could have happened. Anyone else ever experience this? Is it a glitch with the system?

Any help is appreciated!

Are you talking about private messages ?

Yes... sorry, I thought that was the only place for outbox and inbox messages. I should have clarified that this relates to PM's!

I just wanted to be sure. I'm going to have to look into it but I'm nearly sure that its by design.

I ran a small test and deleted some of my outbox (PM) nmessages to another user and they said they dissapeared also.

I would think that the out box should not affect the sent messages on the receiver's side.

But let me know so that if it is by design, I can inform the users so they are aware and can be careful not to delete outbox messages too soon.

Is there some switch/option to change this?

It is by design (don't ask me why though) and there is no option to turn it off.

Thanks! I will inform all my users to be aware of this and then they should be able to manage it themselves!
