Does ForumCo brand forums support the ability to gather information from the users? I'd like to require the users to input their contact information when registering for my forum. Is this possible with ForumCo? Thanks.

Its not possible.

We wouldn't allow forum admins to collect personal information like phone numbers or postal addresses when users register in case that information was abused. If they volunteer this information to you later then that is their choice but we will not force them to surrender personal information in order to register.

Do you know of any forums that do? Currently we have an online user forum for technical support for our products and we would like to use their information so we can contact them for further details on their project and how we can help them integrate our product into their projects. I can understand your stance as not to allow for abuse, however, we feel if they want free support, we should get something from them in return. Any suggestions?

You could use one of the other fields like the Bio one to populate the user with contact details like phone number or postal address but this will be public info as any registered member could view it.

There are lots of contact options already there i.e. email, icq, Yahoo IM, ICQ which you could use.

One easier way would be to create a hidden & private sticky topic with all users contact info which you could refer to and search when admins or moderators needed to contact someone.
