The older version has more features at the moment.

Okay......let me ask again - when will my forum be updated to the new version?? I have, currently, cancelled my next payment for my forums. I was thinking about looking for more options, haven't decided what I will do. BUT, I would like to - really - know what the status is with the updates that have been talked about for 5 months now.

Thanks!

Please, please don't tell me there IS no new version Padraic - I've been telling all my lot that there's been one in the offing for months now that would resolve many of our current issues e.g. not being able to see who else is online at the same time, or sorting posts. I'd hate to regret having hooked up with your board if this is as much as there is, as I'm seeing a lot of other ones that provide more for a similar cost, but haven't had any major problems to make me want to move (Yet!). But I've really been holding on presumably like a lot of others because you kept mentioning a new version. Or did we get it wrong? Is there no way you can update things even one step at a time for us - one new function a month or something?? As I said before, even this admin board has more. The current one requires an elemental knowledge of HTML if you want to change anything in your post such as font/colour and people are lost so don't bother, which to me takes away from their enjoyment of it all. To instead be able to just highlight and switch about as on here would be so much easier for them. What's gone wrong?

I feel the same way Padraic. I would not mind no avatars or I think it's PM's you can't get to work. The other new features would be well worth it. I also keep getting asked about the new version.

As I said above, the older version has more features. If I upgraded all the forums to the new version you would be losing features rather than gaining new ones. There were two or three forums that were enormous so (with the owners permission) I upgraded them to the new version which allowed them (and me) to archive old topics and thus take the strain off the server.

The new forum software is quite different to the old version and has presented me with more problems than I thought initially. I still cannot say when it will be implemented.

Use forum code in prompt mode, its a lot easier.

If you have, then it will be eventually deleted (the next time cancels & card failures are processed).

Well, well! So much for being a good customer, huh?? That attitude really sux - big time! Especially after all the hype, the end of last year, about new modifications being made - as soon as you were able to......That was what I was talking about! I wasn't the one who originally brought up the idea of more features or new boards to begin with! Geesh........

Anyway, I will okay another month - for the members of my forum that want to continue to have it! But, I will continue to look for a "home" that offers more features.

Thanks!

When we get a request to cancel a forum I make sure that the cardholder won't be billed again and delete the board. I'm not trying to be rude, just confirming what cancelling our service with you means i.e. no more payments & board deletion.

What extra features are you looking for?

Padraic, The feature I could really use is sticky topic. Running a car board their are many posts with important service bulletins and Faq's that have to be constantly bumped to the top.

The sticky note is a definite........but, right now, I just want to NOT have my board deleted. Sooooo.....HOW can I get back into making the payments??

I think I have figured it out!! I will "re-order" on the 9th (my payment was due the 10th) and the site form states that ads will be removed once I order. I will do all that Friday. If something happens that it doesn't work.....guess my mind will be made up for me, huh??

Thanks!
