Once again back with another of those newbie queries but one that would be wonderful to have the facility of if it's possible. I've sent out a sort of Welcome to the board email to new members and would like to be able to continue to do so BUT what I'm finding is that bar copying/pasting into a spreadsheet or whatever, I've no way of easily detecting who I've not sent to - yes, I know I can see when they signed up but that's not helping me as I didn't start this at the outset so have sent to old/new alike but stupidly didn't keep a record of who I DID send them out to. Get the drift?
Any suggestions on how this could be tackled? Thanks Romayne

Hmmm, I'm not sure exactly what your trying to do here Romayne.
As you say yourself, bar copying them into either a spreadsheet or a database or even a .txt file, there isn't a way of keeping a record.
I'm not sure how the forum could help you keep a record.
The only way that I would suggest you go about this is to use the joined date on the members page, and do this either daily / weekly etc, and just keep a record of the date you did upto at the time, then do from that date to the date of when you send out new emails.
As I said, I'm not sure if I've understood you, so please forgive me if I've not. :)
I've tried to make my explanation as clear as possible, but it's 6am atm, and I've not had much sleep.
Now, where did I put that Coffee?
Good luck |

Yep - that would certainly sort out the problem. Thanks for your thoughts Kris - I was basically asking for sort facilities within the membership listing on perhaps their date of application or whatever or even their surname - currently the listing is sorted by the top posters first but of those who've not posted at all, there appears to be no form of sorting on any of the fields at all which is what is making it so difficult for me. If the newest member always went at the bottom/top or whatever I'd have an easier way of sorting out who I'd written to and who I hadn't. Don't want to send out duplicate welcome emails as that doesn't look too professional. So glad to know there's at least some way of personally welcoming each individual later on.
Thanks again Romayne |

Members who haven't posted may not have valid email addresses.
They cannot be verified, for example they could have used someone elses email address. The actual owner of the email address chose to ignore the signup email from the forum. Any email you send to them may only cause problems or be viewed as spam. |
