We're working on the forums, hopefully they will be back soon.

Post the code here so I can see what you're trying to post.

Put
tags around the html code.

Initial reports suggest that the cause of the downtime is due to recent security updates supplied by Microsoft.

Its not known how long the downtime will last but it may be a couple of hours.

It has been about 16 hours now since I was informed that my forums had gone down.

How much longer do you think it will be until they are restored to normal?

I do hope that the content of my forums will be in tact when restored.

The server has been repaired, which required a complete reinstallation of the Operating System and the Database Server. It is now fully working but requires that the individual databases be re-attached to the database server. Before that can be done, the integrity of the databases and other maintenance must be done in order to ensure that they remain intact. At this stage its not known if there was any data loss and only time will tell.

I will be working on it non-stop until normal service is restored and will keep users updated as to our progress. We appreciate your continued patience and apologise once again for the inconvience.

The exact info you requested is:

1. Paid
2. Username: tristatephp
3. Website address: You must be logged in to see this link. or You must be logged in to see this link.
4. Short Forum Description: you don't still have this???
5. Your email address: ruthis@email.com

If this means our data is lost we are going to be more then upset... When we initially signed up we specifically asked if the data was backed up regularly and received an email stating that the database was backed up and was secure. This is a PAID service - lost data is not acceptable.

Its back up.
While we do our best to ensure that all data is safe, you cannot account for every eventuality.

Whew! I thank you for your prompt attention to this matter, and do agree with the fact that you can't account for everything. That being said, this is why people have backups.

Is there a possibility we could begin receiving dumps of the database that drives our (and only our) message board so that WE can keep a backup (say, if your server ever explodes randomly?). We may be willing to pay a fee for this service.

Thanks for your help and prompt attention to this matter.

I'm in the process of setting up another backup in a different state (Texas) to the servers. It might take a while.

In the end it comes down to cost, whether its possible, needed and how much it slows down the servers.
