It happens automatically. There won't be one until after June sometime.

hmmmm....

I did an update today. Mass Avatar Add is easier to use now. If I can find a few mods which don't require database changes I will add them. Theres a few which could give the forums a more 'polished' look if I can find them.

I'm thinking about adding a few updates before June (the original date I was working towards).

To give me a better idea of what you the users want, please post your requests for features
here. I'll edit the first post in this thread with features which will be added before June.

1. A way to ban IPs, that way we don't need to use the approval for memberships.
2. A way to delete a bunch of avatars at one time?

1. Banning i.p. addresses would require database changes which I cannot do until after June. I made some database changes last year which increased performance but will require me to do a lot of work on future upgrades.

2. Checkbox beside each avatar and a delete button at the bottom? Should be possible.

Padraic -

Is there way to have a new icon on the first reply in a topic thread from the last time you logged in to read them? I mean instead of using the arrow to jump to the last reply, is there something that can go to the first new reply?

Cathy

Very cool and good idea. That way when a mod has a big list of threads to go thru you won't have to scroll up to find them.

Thanks Katie May - This is a feature that I use a lot on another forum board I frequently visit - is a huge time saver - especially when threads are getting a lot of replies and get to be more than 3 pages long -

If you could provide a link to an example (or a screenshot) it would be easier for me to get a better idea of the kind of functionality needed.

First image -

If you look at the bottom of the image where it says PM there is no new icon beside it - this means that I had already read all of the posts in that subject - all of the other posts above the "PM" has a new icon out beside it - similar to our purple folder when new posts have been made -

Second image -

There were three pages of replies to this particular post - the first post on the image is the third post on the 3rd page - I had read all of the posts up to that point - there are 10 additional posts on the same page - when I clicked on the "new" icon on the topic in the first image - it took me directly to my first unread post -

Third image -

I logged out of the forum and then logged back in. This image shows that the topic that had the new icon beside it in the first image is now gone.

4th Image -

This image now shows that when I clicked on the topic in the first image, that there are no longer any new icons - so therefore, nothing has been added since I logged off.

Should be possible. Some of the functionality is already there i.e. you can jump to an individual post - You must be logged in to see this link.

For my own use
1. topic.asp - Put "new" buttons on any post where the post time is greater than the last visit.
2. forum.asp - Put "new" buttons on any thread which contains posting times greater than the last visit.

Would a purple icon = a new button on forum.asp ? or is ForumCo slightly different in that respect?

Personally, I like the "new" button - but the purple icon is also suitable. :-)
