For some reason, I don't know why, when I try to change my login page by clicking (in IExplorer 6), on Tools|Internet Options, I get the message, "This option has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."

The problem is that this is a home computer, and I am the system administrator - I own the computer. But I don't know what to do about this.

It has changed itself a couple of times from what I had as a home page, without any volition on my part. Now it's going to About:Blank.

If someone can help me, I'd sure appreciate it.

Whats your operating system?

If you're using Windows 2000 or XP there is usually a power user (administrator) that can control the most important things.

In the control panel do you have an option "user accounts" ?

Windows XP Home, on a brand new Dell Laptop, which I probably paid too much for.

I have user accounts in the control panel.

(It's possible that a guy that we have living here - but I don't know this - has been messing around, clicking on different things just to see what will happen. He would not know, however, what he clicked on. I will ask him if he has.)

I am the "computer administrator," although that doesn't mean a lot, because I don't really understand these things.
