How do I turn on email notification so members will receive an email when their post is answered.

After you set this up, your forum and its members will have some added options to choose from, about subscribing and receiving email notices, at whatever level you as Admin allow. They also will have the option to place a check mark in the "Subscribe to this topic" at the time they reply or post on the forum.
