(all numbers approximate and exclude the control bar)
What's the logic behind this? Why can't all the window sizes be as big (or bigger) as the You Tube size?
Compare the experience you get at GoogleVideo and YouTube. Exactly the same piece of Flash9 video, but a completely different level of viewer experience.
Why are we being made to live with smaller windows here? And of different sizes?
Since YouTube is becoming the defacto place to post videos (I'll add to that if I ever get a response here) why can't we have all the windows the same size as YouTube's site?
Quicktime remains the one format here you cannot view unless you are logged in. Is there a reason for this? It would be very nice if this could be changed.
And here's some buttons for iFilm and YouAre.tv . . . . .
Yet more proof (if needs be) that the windows are too small here. Eventually YouTube and GoogleVideo will do the same as Photobucket are now doing. (You'll notice that Photobucket are now 'widescreen ready' too)
If you have no intention of making any changes please do say so and I'll stop waiting (UKFilmForum has been on hold since June! )
I'll do the video changes first and then add various other updates. If the video changes are ok then I will update the forums and move on to the next job.
Oops, There's a gap on either side of the YouTube windows indicating it's not the right aspect ratio. The YouTube embed thingy looks like this:You must be logged in to see this link."></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/DzFa5jrw9UY" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>meaning that it needs a window of 425x350 including the control bar.
Sorry I should have spotted that before.
p.s. Is it possible to set the background behind a quicktime movie to black? It would look so much better. See example above.
